The Cue Company is committed to providing quality products and services and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to in respect to how we manage client, staff and other worker information and data.
At The Cue Company have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The Australian Privacy Principles govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of client information and data.

Staff, other worker and client information and data that The Cue Company collects is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of client information collected may include: first and last names, company name, home or addresses, email addresses, fixed phone, mobile and facsimile numbers.
This staff, other worker and client information and data is obtained in many ways including correspondence, by telephone and facsimile, by email, via our website, thecueco.com.au, from other company or organisation websites, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from cookies and from third parties and from forms and employment records. The Cue Company does not guarantee website links or the policy of authorised third parties.
At The Cue Company we collect client information and data for the primary purpose of providing services, meeting legal requirements, providing information to our clients and marketing. We may also use client information and data for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists/materials at any time by contacting us in writing.
When we collect client information and data, we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it or disclose it if required.
Sensitive information and data is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.
Sensitive and confidential information and data will be used by The Cue Company only:
- For the primary purpose for which it was obtained.
- For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose.
- With your consent or where required or authorised by law.
Where reasonable and practicable to do so, The Cue Company will collect client information and data only from individuals. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information and data by third parties. In such cases we will take reasonable steps to ensure that that these individuals are made aware of the information provided to us by the third parties.
For security, personal information and data is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
For staff and other workers, the employee records exemption may be in effect, this means that the APPs will not apply to the handling of your information once it has been collected and is held in an employee record, where it is directly related to the employment relationship and business operations.
When staff, other worker or client information and data is no longer required for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information. However, most of the information and data is or will be stored in client, supplier, staff and other worker files which will be kept by us for a minimum of seven (7) years.

Managers have a duty to provide and ensure that personal information is managed in an open and transparent way and that reasonable steps are taken to implement practices, procedures and systems that ensure compliance with Australian Privacy Policies. All workers are required to comply with The Cue Company’s Privacy policies, codes of conduct, procedures and guidelines and conduct work in a manner that ensure we practice good privacy governance and meet our ongoing compliance obligations.
Officers of The Cue Company must exercise due diligence to ensure the business complies with its Privacy Policy.
In accordance with our commitment to continued improvement, management and staff shall review this policy triennially.
